Performance | "Notizen in hellem Rosa treffen auf Granit“

Performance on Friday, 9 June 2023 at 8 pm

In the performance "Notizen in hellem Rosa treffen auf Granit“, the artist Leila Orth enters into a conversation with the sculpture Granit (Normandie) gespalten, geschnitten, geschliffen (1985) by Ulrich Rückriem. She focuses on the thoughts that arise in the contemplation of artists and their works. The performance is part of the framework programme for Sophie Rebentisch's exhibition "Ciao Eden", which is on display in the RADAR room next door until 11 June.

Leila Orth (*1995) lives and works in Cologne and is an interdisciplinary artist. Her works are composed of performative gestures, images, sculptures and texts. Starting points are the connections between archives, their inherent colonial markers and her own reflections.
She completed her artistic studies as a master student with Suchan Kinoshita at the Kunstakademie Münster. Since 2022, Leila Orth has received postgraduate studies at the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln.
Previous works have been created at Palazzo Ricci, Montepulciano (IT), Pumpenhaus Theater, Atelierhaus Speicher 2 and the Wewerka Pavillon, Münster, among others.
Future works this year will be shown at the Stadthausgallerie, Kunsthalle Münster and the Skulpturenmuseum Marl, among others.
